I don't see how you can do a 'best of 2007' in the middle of the year, but Missing Pages is an interesting portrayal of time travel in a stop motion matrix-effects movie. Good stuff...

While the new release of Harry Potter is always new on my now annual summer trip to Texas, last time around I picked up Life of Pi, a story about a boy who lives as a castaway in the Pacific Ocean for (I think) 3 months.
It's a sweet book, and it's true. While the first half is pretty lax, the second part is stellar.
