Tomorrow is the McDonald's "We make everyone obese but we use this to pretend we promote excercise" tourney.
I know I'm gonna be tired, because I won't be able to sleep until close to 1, and then I gotta get up at quarter to 9.
I dunno how good we are going to do, our little mini-practice on Thursday didn't seem too fulfilling to me, but we are gonna kill the other teams on free kicks. We've managed to use motion to create mass confusion, and even on defense if you know what's coming it's still a challenge.
I gotta go eat something with fat so I can try and make myself tired. And then kickass tomorrow afternoon. Out.
I found a website that streams EPL games for free. epltalk.com, on Saturday and Sunday mornings (and other times as well) stream the 'good' games. I watch ManU destroy Bolton 4-1, and Chelsea hammer Sheffield United 3-0. Then we lost our indoor game.
Later I watched the second half of Butler v Maryland. Butler showed more composure down the stretch, and they won by 3. Good thing I went against Maryland in the brackets, I'm totally destroying Eugene. Ha Ha Ha!
This is the table and schedule for our indoor league:
You don't have to be a genius to see us at the bottom. We, for some reason, always get put into the league with the kids that are actually 25, not 14. But, we have a showdown tomorrow with the other team with no points, the badly spelled Carma!
In our next few games we have a decent chance of moving up into the fourth or fifth spot, seeing that we play more teams at the bottom, and we almost drew with Sharks in the first game. Maybe our luck will change, seeing as I've only played one game in this leg of the season.
Tomorrow should be an interesting game, but I think we are gonna blow them out badly...
I just finished watching Once in a Lifetime. It's a documentary about the New York Cosmos and soccer in the US in the late 70s and early 80s. I realize at the end of this movie that I may have never heard of soccer if it wasn't for this team.
The only reason the NASL closed down shop was because they were stopped being shown on TV. If the NFL was not shown on TV anymore, I'm 100% sure there would be violence. I hope for the day that happens :)
I also loved how the first ten minutes of the film is about how americans do not have the attention span for constant action. They need a break to drink beer...
So if you love the game take action. Go to the Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta websites and send emails to your cable company. It's not much, but it's a start.
